About UTTHAN: UTTHAN is an NGO working across India to bring positive change in people’s lives. Through our PoSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) initiatives, we focus on the prevention, precaution, and redressal of workplace sexual harassment as per the PoSH Act 2013 and company policies and compliance requirements.

We support Corporates, Academia, Industries, SMEs, MSMEs, Start-ups, and various sectors in commerce and e-commerce. UTTHAN also provides training in areas like Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, LGBTQIA+ awareness, Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), Cyber and Data Security, Anti-Bribery, and Anti-Corruption (ABAC), along with creating necessary policies, SOPs, and Kits.

The PoSH Act 2013: In 2013, India introduced its first comprehensive legislation to address workplace harassment, the PoSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Act. This law aims to protect employees from sexual harassment, ensuring a safe, secure, and dignified work environment.

The core objective of the PoSH Act is to create a respectful workplace by preventing and appropriately addressing incidents of harassment. It mandates that companies implement a zero-tolerance policy, establish a robust internal policy, and form an Internal Committee (IC) for prohibition, prevention, and redressal of sexual harassment.
